This week, students will complete their second assessment in math - an assessment on angle measurement. Students are expected to draw and measure angles using a protractor and find the measurement of unknown angles. Students completed a practice test in class today; please go over this with your student before the test on Wednesday. Please visit the math website for extra practice (under math standards tab).
Please be sure your student is filling out Apple Core bookmarks as they complete their nightly reading homework. Students earn rewards for each bookmark turned in, and the winning class gets special prizes as well, including getting to dress Mr. Hayden for day - the sillier, the better!
Classes are also collecting Box Tops and recyclables; these can be sent in with your student.
Harvest Festival is Friday, October 24th - if you are interested in volunteering, informational slips went home with your student today. Otherwise, we hope to see you there for fun and activities from 5:00 - 8:00. We are still collecting Road Trip items to put in our classroom basket. If you have any items to donate, please send them in with your student. You will be able to see (and bid on) our Road Trip basket at the Silent Auction during the festival.
The first AR (Accelerate Reader) party is approaching. Students that have 30 or more AR points will be invited to a special celebration with Mrs. Overlein on November 18th. Keep reading and testing!
In writing, students are publishing their fictional narrative piece - please ask your student about their story. For more information about writing class - visit Mr. Hayden's website.
In reading, students are finishing their character study and will begin to discuss plot events. Please ask your student about their novel group book and how they are doing in their response journals.
Grades have been entered into Infinite Campus - please check regularly for updated grades.
If you have any questions or concerns, please email any of the teachers.
Have a great week!
